Places to eat and drink
If you want a break from cooking in the camp kitchen or on the barbecue there are plenty of country pubs to visit, all within easy striking distance of the Ridgeway Campsite.
We can also put you in touch with an excellent private caterer if you would like someone to prepare any meals at the campsite.
THE BELL AT WEST OVERTON
An old coaching inn on the Bath Road, The Bell at West Overton is our nearest pub. It also serves classy food and the staff are very friendly. Enjoy your first drink for free with a meal - just say you are staying at the campsite (restrictions apply)
THE MILLSTREAM, MARDEN
This is a lovely country pub in the heart of the Pewsey Vale with a spacious beer garden next to the river Avon. The food is described by the chef as a twist on the pub classics.
THE WHO'DA THOUGHT IT
A traditional village pub dating back to the 18th century in nearby Lockeridge serving locally sourced food including pies, fish and chips, steak, pork belly and burgers.
THE SEVEN STARS, BOTTLESFORD
The Seven Stars has been licensed for over 265 years and is a characterful and popular watering hole attracting people far and wide for its good food and drink.
Oddfellows is a family friendly pub located in the village of Manton just outside Marlborough. There is limited seating inside so do book a table in advance if you can.
THE RED LION, AVEBURY
This pub is set right in the heart of the Avebury stone circle, so a good destination after a (longish) walk from the campsite. It serves hearty pub food, including a weekend brunch, surrounded by Neolithic monuments and beautiful Wiltshire countryside.
